Retail Shopping Plaza
Marietta, GA
This site is a commercial shopping center which had a lease pending from a large retailer (Wal-Mart). Results from a Phase I/II investigation indicated the presence of tetrachloroethene (PCE) and other constituents present in the soil and groundwater attributed to an on-site dry cleaner. In addition, other detected contaminants were presumed to be from potential off-site sources, such as an adjacent leaking underground storage tank (LUST) site and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) generator.
Envirorisk performs comprehensive Phase I environmental site assessments (ESAs), asbestos and lead-based paint sampling, and Phase II subsurface investigations. Many Phase I & II site assessments are performed as part of property acquisitions and transfers of holdings. Envirorisk can help you determine if asbestos surveys, lead-based paint surveys, or soil and groundwater sampling are advantageous to include in your Phase I ESA. Envirorisk has completed numerous site assessments, including combined Phase I & II ESAs. Phase II investigations utilize direct-push subsurface drilling to identify if contaminants are present in soil and/or groundwater. Often the direct-push investigation will evaluate the horizontal and vertical extent of soil and/or groundwater for rapid delineation and clean-up estimation.
